Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are dozens of types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities).
People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.
Our Specialites
Deep Tissue Massage. Designed to remove severe tension, deep tissue massage is a technique used to relieve both muscles and connective tissue below the surface. It helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries below the surface.
Swedish Massage. Utilizes smooth, gliding strokes. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits. It is a classic massage that will ease your stress and allow you to slip into a calm state of relaxation.
Hot Stone Massage.Smooth stones are heated and then lubricated with oil or essential oils, the therapeutic effects of heat are used to relax muscles more deeply. Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of massage stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming and centering.
Men’s Health Massage – A unique style of a gentle soothing massage that combines both Swedish and Shiatsu techniques. Designed especially for men, a Men’s Health Massage is a full body massage, including abs, adductors, chest and glutes. It is perfect to assist with stress, anxiety, relaxation and, of course, muscle health. Experience deep relaxation, balance and stress relief in a private, safe and relaxing environment.
Zen Shiatsu-- A form of Japanese bodywork. Shiatsu involves localized pressure using the therapist's fingers (or sometimes hands and elbows), applied in a rhythmic sequence along the body. With roots in traditional Chinese medicine, the goal of shiatsu is to stimulate acupressure points on the body to improve the flow of blood, lymph and energy and help regain balance. Since no oil or lotion is used, you wear loose clothing. Shiatsu is often used to reduce stress and protect against stress-related health issues. Shiatsu is also effective for treating conditions like arthritis, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, insomnia, back and neck pain, frozen shoulder, sciatica, and even sinus problems. It helps increase energy, promote recovery from injuries, and stimulate the digestive system. Shiatsu is appropriate for both women and men of all ages and body types.
